2016 GFA National Teen Camp: "Fantastic Voyage"

It's on again and you want to be a part of this..... come on, you know you want to.

The teen camp is always held just before the main conference.

Camp will start on Friday 30th September and end on Tuesday 4th October. Now that's huge! Who wouldn't want to come to a camp like that.

The conference program won’t be finalised until much closer to the conference date – but we expect the start & finish times to look something like this;

Start: Friday 30th September
Check-in approximately 3pm-4pm

Finish: 10:30am Tuesday 4th October

NC16 Teen Camp is planned to be held in Silverton, a short drive from Broken Hill.  The venue is the Silverton War memorial Youth Camp

Who? (or what age)

The Teen camp is designed for teenagers, you need to have turned 13 years and over by the last day of the camp. So if your birthday is during camp then woohoo!

At the other end of the age group, we welcome young adults who are in their early twenties (who are technically no longer teenagers but have been brought up in a Growing Families home).  Don't forget that the Conference that follows now also has a specific stream of elective sessions aimed at young adults.

Program info

Information including the camp program will be emailed to those registered for the camp.

What can I expect?

The Silverton Youth Camp is not a resort.  In fact its more like camping as the facilities are fairly basic, so it will make for an interesting camp.  It is the outback so there's plenty of dust and dirt and since we'll have a campfire as well getting a little dirty will be part of it.  There'll be times for personal reflection and devotion, times to hear some teaching, times for group discussion, and of course, times for heaps of fun with group games and activities.

How do you get there?

There's a number of options for getting to Broken Hill and a lot of teens may come with their families to attend the Conference.  If we have enough interest we may organise a group train trip from Adelaide, how cool would that be?  Anyway, further details will be posted as we get closer to opening for registrations.

The cost to attend the teen camp (and for all included meals) will be advised when Conference registrations open in October 2015. The teen camp costs will include accommodation and food and all activities.

So what do I do?

Right now, just decide that this is something you aren't gonna miss, the rest will happen when it does, just stay tuned and get pumped!
