November 2007

Greetings and Blessings in Jesus Christ from the National Office for November. We have a number of exciting things happening this month which we want to share with you. NATIONAL CONFERENCE 2009 - Yes, it may seem a long way off, but it will come around rapidly. Please see details about pre-registering below. If you pre-register you will have the first chance for full-registration in April 2008. If you do pre-register you are not locked in to coming but you will receive information as it is available and it is helpful for the organising team to have some idea of who may be attending.
PARENTING BY PRINCIPLE - Please continue to pray for the Scotfords and the Ezzos as they continue with this project. This project needs to be undergirded by prayer and reliance on the Holy Spirit. I know both the Scotfords and Ezzos appreciate your prayers and support. HOBBS - ZIMBABWE - Many of you will know Les and Sheree Hobbs and their family from Zimbabwe. We have been able to speak with them a couple of times via Skype on the computer, and even though living conditions are very difficult in Zimbabwe they have hope and joy in the Lord as they see His provision day by day. Please continue to uphold them in prayer also. This week I have been thinking on Romans 15:5,6 which speaks of our enduring and encouraging and the sprit of unity which we have and the fact that then God is glorified. This is our prayer for both your families and the ministry which you are involved in - that the world may see your unity and oneness and therefore God will be glorified and families drawn to Him.

Testimonials
This is your section of the newsletter. We want to be able to share as many testimonies of how this material is impacting families in Australia, New Zealand and around the world .
“Well our first GKGW is rapidly drawing to a close, we do week 15 this Wednesday night. We have eight couples that will be graduating in a couple of weeks. Next Saturday I’m holding a Grandparenting Seminar so that the participants parents will understand a little more about what their children have been learning so they will be able to support them better. One of the young dads made a comment last Wednesday that the course should be retitled, “Growing Parents God’s Way”, I thought that was really interesting. We have experienced so many blessings from running this program that were totally unexpected, and the comment has already being made that the participants don’t want the course to finish so we are now investigating ways to keep the group together after the course finishes.”

NEWS
Help Wanted -Facilitator Database
We’re looking to update our facilitator database, and need someone who can volunteer their time to assist with data entry into Microsoft Excel. There is quite a lot of information to enter, so we’re looking for someone who can commit around 3-4 hours per week for a few months. If that’s you, we’d love to hear from you. Please email enquiries@gfi.org.au, or phone us on (08) 8322-3770.
National Conference 2009
We’ve had a number of enquiries from people asking for more details about the conference. While we’re aiming to have full details available from April 2008, we’re giving people some key details now, as well as a chance to pre-register for those who are planning to come. People who have pre-registered will be given the first chance to register in April 2008. Given this is the first conference on the east coast for 7 years, and we can only accommodate around 90 families onsite, we’re expecting a full house, so get in early. For key details and to pre-register, go to the Online Pre Registration pages here.
