This ministry was established and is supported by Gary and Anne Marie Ezzo, and other ministry partners internationally, and here in Australia.

 

Its purpose is dedicated to encouraging families through the GEMS Ministry (Godly Encouragement for Mums) which includes the Contact Mums Ministry, GEMs small group gatherings, Resource Tapes and the Facets Journal newsletter/resources.

 

These ministries help thousands of people each year using biblical principles and the love of God as expressed through the sharing of our lives.

 

 

Definition

Contact Mums is a network of Christian women who share a common conviction regarding biblical parenting principles. A Contact Mum will encourage new mums in the implementation of these principles by establishing a healthy routine and flexible, cyclical, feeding schedule. Beyond the fundamentals of infant care and nurturing, Contact Mums share many other God-honouring principles from their practical experience for child rearing and family life. Contact Mums are committed to following the advice in Titus 2:4a, by admonishing “young women to love their husbands and to love their children...”.

 

 

Practical Application

For the most part, Contact Mums answer questions by telephone from one of three sources:

 

1). National Referral: Calls that have come into the GFA National Office that are distributed to a Contact Mum from the same area as the caller. Unless specifically requested, all Contact Mums are considered available for national calls.

 

2). Church Referral: Calls referred to you directly from your own church or Contact Mums Coordinator. These calls are usually in concert with, or as a result of, a parenting class. CM defers specific details in this area to the local church.

 

3). Good Samaritan Referral: directly. Calls from a person who knows you or has been helped by you, or from a person in need of encouragement who has been given your name by a friend. This is a vital part of the Gems Ministry...  and a compliment to you.

 

 

Contact Mum Levels

 

There are three levels of Contact Mums.

• Heritage Contact Mum - Ministers to mums with children from birth to two years of age.

• Heirloom Contact Mum - Ministers to mums with children from two to twelve years of age.

• Harvest Contact Mum - Ministers to mums with children from twelve through the teen years, as well as into the adult years if needed.

"Sharing God's love by sharing our lives".

 

This is the 'motto' of the GEMS ministry. The Contact Mums (CMs) ministry is in essence discipleship relationships. The majority of our CMs are in the 'Heritage' bracket (birth to 2 years). 6 of the 38 CMs are 'Heirloom' (2 to 12 years). We don't have any official 'Harvest' (Teens) CMs yet!

 

The GFI ministry is growing in Australia and it would be great to see more women join us in the Contact Mums ministry.
